Welcome to Saint Brendan School

Welcome, Parents and Friends of St. Brendan School. If you have not registered, please click here. If you’ve already registered, please log in at the bottom of the left column.

St. Brendan School is a Catholic elementary school founded to assist parents in their primary responsibility for the Christian education of their children. It is under the supervision of the Department of Catholic Schools of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and is administered by a Sister of St. Joseph of Carondelet, and dedicated lay teachers.

St. Brendan School is an integral part of the whole parish family, providing a concrete environment for the development of gospel values and the living out of Christian community. We try to accept each child as a unique individual with special gifts of mind and soul. Furthermore, we encourage the children to accept each other in the same spirit.

St. Brendan School strives to provide an academically challenging Catholic elementary education (K-8). It is primarily for the multi-cultural people of the parish in the spirit of proclaiming the Gospel, building faith community and rendering Christian service.

SBS Sports Update (4/3/14)

Girls Soccer
Our SBS girls have completed their regular season with a 5-2 record and will play this weekend in the CYO playoffs. They face St. Dorothy at 2PM on Saturday at SS. Pius and Matthias High School in Downey. Admission is $5 for adults and students in 9th grade or older.

Boys Soccer
Our boys play their final two regular season games this weekend as they try to complete an undefeated regular season (currently 4-0-1). They face OLMM on Saturday at 3PM and OL Talpa on Sunday at 2PM. Both games will be played at Cantwell-Sacred Heart High School in Montebello.

Boys Volleyball
The Bears volleyball team is off to a strong start this season with a 2-1 record. Come support our boys next week when they play St. Agnes on Tuesday, April 8th, at 4:45PM and Thursday, April 10th, when they face OL Loretto at 4:45PM. Both games will be played at St. Brendan school.

St. Brendan is the centralized host location for the Sunset league so there are plenty of service hours to be earned in the Bair Lair. Interested parents should contact Wendy Burg, Jan D’Atri or Abel De Luna.

The SBS track team is off and running with two meets this weekend. Saturday, April 5, they are participating in the FIYA meet at Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks and Sunday, April 6, they will participate in the St. Rita Raider Relays at Bishop Amat High School.

Saturday Youth Soccer at SBS
From Heather Macpheron. Please reply to macphersonheatheratmacdotcom if you are interested.
As some of you may know, there was a hiccup with the AYSO Spring season. As a result some kids are left without a spring soccer season. Patrick and I have reserved the field at St. Brendan school from 9-11a on Saturdays starting April 5-June 14. We thought it would be best to set-up weekly pick-up games, depending on the level of interest/commitment. That way the kids can continue to play and develop their skills. Patrick is willing to oversee/coach most of the Saturdays. If you’re interested, here’s what we need from you.

Pick-up Game Dates: April 5-June 14 (10) Saturdays
1. Commitment to show up. We’ll need a minimum of (8) kids per Saturday for a 4 on 4 game. We’d like more, but will use 8 as our minimum.
2. Parent Volunteer – If your kid is playing we need you to volunteer one Saturday to help with set-up/breakdown/clean-up/etc.
3. Fee: The school is charging $400 for 10 Saturdays for maintenance. Depending on the response we divide the fee out per player.

Please let us know if you are interested in participating.
